Research Interests
My research focuses on the preclinical application of new imaging probes for the study of neoplastic, inflammatory, and neurodegenerative pathologies using molecular imaging techniques in animal models. I am specialized in the small animal model preparation, animal handling, in vivo pharmacological treatments, necroscopy, collection, processing and sectioning of organs, tissues and blood. My research activity includes the use of Nuclear Medicine instrumentations (PET/SPECT/CT Triumph II Imaging System,Trifoil Imaging; Wizard2 Detector Gamma Counter, PerkinElmer), MRI scanners (ICON 1T, Biospec 3T, Pharmascan 7T - Bruker), and in vivo Optical Imaging system (IVIS Spectrum, PerkinElmer), and the acquisition, reconstruction and quantitative analysis of PET, SPECT and CT, MRI, and OI images. In addition, I am responsible for the design of pre-clinical studies and for the preparation of study documentations, such as study protocols and amendments, study reports, Standard Operating Procedures, experimental protocol procedures.
